A woman in India has apparently attacked her husband, chopping off his penis and testicles after finding out he was cheating on her. Sukhwant Kaur is said to have discovered her husband's infidelity and then waited for him to fall asleep beating him unconscious with a metal rod and hacking away at his genitals with a knife. She then flushed his genitals down the toilet before her husband was quickly rushed to hospital, its not clear who called the emergency services. Mr Singh is currently in hospital and is understood to be in a serious condition as a result of profuse bleeding following the incident in Joginder Nagar, northern India.
Investigators revealed that the woman took the action at their home after accusing him of cheating on her. Jalandhar Assistant Commissioner of Police, Satinder Kumar, said: ‘The woman first hit her husband with a rod when he was sleeping which left him unconscious. Thereafter, she chopped off his private parts with a knife and then disposed them in a toilet.’ Police are investigating after the man's father filed a complaint and a case under relevant section of the IPC has been registered against the woman. The couple apparently have two children from their marriage.
In October a 26-year-old man had his penis successfully reattached in Kattipuram, India after a similar incident where his wife attacked him after finding out that he was marrying another woman. His wife was an arranged marriage and he was actually in love with someone else, after getting caught meeting up with her his wife chopped his penis off and an intense operation was undergone to salvage it. Dr. Krishnakumar, senior consultant, said: "To re-implant an amputated penis, all the complex structures in the penis have to be repaired. In this case we successfully repaired the arteries which bring the blood to the organ, the veins which carry the blood away, the nerves which give sensibility to the organ, the urethra, the corpora which provides erection and the muscles. ‘The patient can be back to normal life in four weeks."
