A Chinese security guard working in a small town near the Russia-China border spotted something strange in the sky on January 6th 2017. The Dayangqi Railway Station, where he works, is a relatively small point of travel between the two nations and the town it is near is an unassuming and quiet rural place. So when the guard noticed something floating in the sky, it really caught his attention.
“I saw something flashing in the distance at around 8:10pm. I didn’t think anything of it at first but then realised the source did not come from a torch or a streetlamp,” he writes on his video uploaded to Pearvideo. The guard has chosen to remain anonymous but the footage he has recorded has started to gain traction online as people remark on the object’s possible origin.
“Could it be a drone?” asked one user below the video.
The guard has said that the object appeared to shimmer “like a jellyfish” and looked as though it was shaped like a “disc”. There were no passengers and no other staff to witness the event but luckily the guard had the sense to check the surveillance tape and find video evidence supporting his claim!
