Some of you who have travelled may be familiar with the rather strange service offered in many Asian countries where people like to get their skin whitened. In Western society that would be a big no no, but it's huge over in that part of the world. Now a Bangkok clinic has caused a mixture of outrage and, well, just confusion, by offering a new service where they whiten the skin on your penis.
Yes, you read that right.
The hospital has offered a skin whitening treatment for years but was recently convinced to help a man who complained about “dark parts” on his genitalia through the application of lasers. According to the clinic up to a 100 men a month use the service.
Yes you read that right too. There are, apparently, hundreds of men desperate to shoot their junk with lasers so everything down there looks whiter.
"We have to be careful because it's a sensitive part of the body," said a representative of the hospital (with a fair amount of understatement). They also mentioned that many of the clients were from Thailand's LGBTQ community.
The hospital has previously courted controversy when it offered a “3D vagina” treatment where they use the patient’s own body fat to plump up the genitalia. Once again the service stirred up some shock and anger but enough people continued to use it that the service remains available.
Which just goes to show that people will do anything to themselves in the name of insecurities!
Seriously though, would you let someone laser your d*ck? I wouldn’t. Lasers and needles and knives can stay faaaaaaar away from my penis. And I don't think that's a cultural thing either. It seems that even in Thailand people think that this isn't a very smart thing to do.
“The obsession... people nowadays can't embrace their own skin colour," said one person on Facebook.
“Oh god... what ever happened to the world?” wrote another.
