A 22-year-old man is dead after a Youtube stunt he organised went disastrously wrong. Killed as a result of a gunshot wound received from .50 cal Desert Eagle pistol, Pedro and his 20-year-old partner were reportedly desperate to achieve Youtube fame. They had concocted the stunt, where Monalisa was to fire the gun at her boyfriend only for the bullet to be stopped by a phonebook, in order to go to ‘the next level’ and gain more followers and subscribers. They even said they had tested the stunt, but whether or not they had everything went wrong anyway, and Pedro was pronounced dead at the scene.
The couple were expecting their second child together and Pedro’s family made it clear just how devastating the tragedy was.
"They were in love. They loved each other. It was just a prank gone wrong. It shouldn't have happened like this. It shouldn't have happened at all," Pedro’s aunt, Claudia Ruiz, told reporters.
Monalisa, however, now faces charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and may spend time behind bars despite being pregnant with the couple’s second child.
"The fact that she has got to live with this for the rest of her life, that alone, is a charge to me," Claudia Ruiz said.
“We're going to name it Pedro, I want my name to carry on,” she added, talking about the baby boy Monalisa is expecting.
While the couple displayed a frightening lack of thought it’s still hard to imagine how Monalisa must be feeling right now. Two lives have been thrown away, and two children left without a father in what can only be described as a heart wrenching tragedy.
