26-year-old Jemma Lilley faces 28 years in prison after she was found guilty of garrotting, stabbing and killing 18-year-old Aaron Pajich. The British woman lived in Perth, Australia when she committed the crime, although she is originally from Lincolnshire.
It emerged during the trial that her motive for the crime was her obsession with murder, murderers and serial killers. And that her bucket list included ‘murder’ as an item. In fact the woman was so fixated on committing the crime that she even boasted of how she had buried Aaron’s body in a shallow grave to a colleague. An act of arrogance that ultimately led to her arrest.

Also found guilty Aaron’s murder was Jemma’s roommate, 43-year-old Trudi Lennon who was described as “sycophantic” and “obsessed” with Jemma Lilley. Trudi claimed she did not actually commit the murder, saying that it was Jemma who garrotted and stabbed Aaron after she lured him into their house by asking for help with her computer. The jury, however, did not buy Trudi’s claims of innocence and she too has been found guilty of murder.
Lilley also had tarpaulins and various books and bits of research on torture, murder and body disposal but she herself was adamant it was all part of her attempt to write a trilogy of books about a serial killer. The books were titled SOS and her step-mother spoke to the Times about the books saying,
“The book was a big problem with me. At the beginning I was, ‘fair enough you want to write a horror story’, but I didn’t like the contents of it.
“She had always had an obsession with serial killers but she said it was a way of venting her frustration of what happened when she was a child.”
Meanwhile Aaron’s mother also spoke to the press, condemning the killers in an outpouring of grief,
“He was my precious little boy, he was my first-born... he was full of life.
“They (the killers) deserve everything they get for what they’ve done, they’ve taken an innocent boy from his loved ones.”
