Police in California were baffled last year when a man they had pursued for over an hour across freeways and dust storms ended after the suspect stopped to get gas.
Yeah, that’s right. He stopped dead in the middle of a high-speed pursuit to fuel the car. We are desperate to ask if he thought he police would politely stop and wait for him? Or if he thought he could just get away with it by being super quick?
The chase began at 3pm Pacific Time after police were called to deal with a man who had vandalised a hotel room. Soon after arriving the man fled in a silver Mercedes Benz and the police were forced to pursue him. The chase even passed straight through an enormous dust cloud that would have been seriously dangerous for both him and the police involved.
He was taken into custody shortly after pulling over.
