Salem, Connecticut – a woman has been convicted of domestic abuse and will serve eight years in prison, with five in parole, as a result of video footage that emerged during the trial. The footage showed her repeated beating her husband and cutting his genitals with scissors. After the footage was came out the 35-year-old woman pled guilty, no contest, to the charges in order to get a plea deal that cut her sentence down from 18 years to eight.
Domestic abuse is a serious issue, and we won’t make light of it. But we will point out that there’s something deliciously karmic about the way that this woman’s conviction hinged on video evidence collected on a GoPro. A GoPro, by the way, that she forced her husband to wear for years because she didn’t trust him. Her grotesque and cruel abuse of trust and common decency has, ultimately, come right around bit her on the ass. Hopefully she can spend every second of those eight years in prison contemplating how her sickening mistreatment of the one she loved was brought to light by her own sad mistrust and paranoia.
