Ben Greenfield is a fitness blogger and self-proclaimed “biohacker”. He is famous amongst hardcore fitness trackers who are obsessed with biometric data, technology, and fitness and has tens of thousands of followers across Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. He likes to live his life like a science experiment, and he considers himself a case study on how science can improve our bodies and health. He has previously used stem cells to test the possibility of increased healing and muscle performance, exposed himself to experimental soundwaves, and platelet-rich plasma injections to boost his blood’s ability to oxygenate his cells.
Now, he’s taken things further by testing whether stem cells can cause your penis to grow. Ben has elaborated on a previous experiment conducted in 2016 where scientists used stem cell injections to (possibly) treat erectile dysfunction. The study found some beneficial outcomes, and they didn’t find any sign of terrible side effects, but they only tested it on 17 men and even then, only 8 of them saw any improvement.
But Ben wanted to test if it could make his penis actually grow. So he went to U.S Stem Cell, a company that has a bit of a dodgy past and has previously been warned by the FDA after it blinded some people during an experimental therapy. For some reason Ben Greenfield trusted these people to perform the procedure on his penis.
Ben swears his penis has gotten bigger because “when inside of my wife, she can tell” even though he hasn’t “taken out a ruler”. He claims the size varies too much for a consistent measurement but that he is “noticeably better hung” and that he gets bigger, better erections that give him more powerful orgasms and increased endurance. The increase in size, he says, “cannot be denied”.
Except by those of us who like evidence… Even just a freakin’ shred of evidence.
Experts, however, have questioned Ben’s behaviour. They point out that even if stem cell therapy, when used like this, doesn’t have side effects that doesn’t mean it’s safe. Stabbing your penis with a needle opens up huge risks of infection, and all for a procedure that sounds like it doesn’t even work. But, this guy wanted a bigger penis and now says he has one.
Why would any man lie about that?
