A nursery in Washington has come under fire after two parents complained about the staff’s treatment of their children.
One of the children’s mothers talked about how when she picked her daughter up the girl had red skin and was missing eyebrow hair.
“I saw she was missing her patch of hair because she has a unibrow and she was born like that,” she told reporters.
She also added that her daughter “had a couple of tears in her eyes” and the skin on her forehead was irritated. “It looked like somebody waxed her.”
Another woman also mentioned that her 2-year-old son had sensitive eyebrows that were reddened and that when she went to inspect them he pulled away and cried,
“No, no, stop, it hurts.”
Parents have also claimed that when confronted the nursery head “started laughing in our faces”.
The nursery is currently under investigation by the Department of Early Learning which visited the facility on Monday. The company which owns the nursery told reporters the following,
“We take these allegations seriously and will work to support the investigation process.”
The investigation may take 30 days. Meanwhile one of the mothers responded to internet users who accused her of over-stating the seriousness of the issue. She wrote on her Facebook wall saying,
“I really didnt wanna make this a big deal but today my life change i never thought something like these would or could of happend to my son like wtf were this ladys from sons daycare were thinking to waxes his eyebrows and not just him they also did it to my friends daughter I know a lot of you are going to say this not a big deal but honestly for me it is because their skin is really delicate and no lady has the right to do this to any kid and when we went to comfort the lady who is in charge there all she said was that she talked to her staff and they all say they didn't do it and then she asked me what I wanted with a smile on her face and then told me that no one is forcing me to bring my son CBC daycare but I'm paying for they can watch him good not to be waxing his eyebrows honestly I don't know how other moms will react if this was your child for me I feel like this is a warning like they did this what's next you know my son can't talk and I don't know what he has been through and it's really hard honestly because he's just a baby he cant defend himself he's not even 2 yet and I'm at a point right now that I feel like a bad mom because I cant protect him when he needs me the most and it sucks feeling this way.”
Well who could argue against that kind of logic?
