Sometimes God gives you a gift so great that it can only eventually be taken back, it can’t exist in this impure world. Case in point – Doritos 3D. Crunchy, air-filled pockets of heaven discontinued for being too far ahead of their time. If that makes you nostalgic then this is the list for you
Planters Cheez Balls
Crunchy, airy and guaranteed to leave you covered in a thin layer of cheese dust, Planters discontinued their Cheez Balls in 2006. Petitions are rife online but Planters have moved on to nuttier pastures and there are no plans to bring the tasty little balls back.
It’s Pepsi… but clear. If you’re not already sold then you’re not the target demographic for the drink. Last seen in 2015 when Pepsi gave away 13,000 six-packs to devoted fans, Crystal Pepsi swept the nation for a limited time only and enjoys a cult following to this day.
Hi – C Ecto Cooler
This little carton of juice ran for over ten years which is seriously impressive for a Ghostbusters tie-in merchandise. Hi – C Ecto Cooler was zingy, citrusy and bright goddamn green. Coca Cola brought it back for the release of the Ghostbusters remake in 2016 so you can order this quite easily online again… Bless up.
Squeeze it. Get it? These little bottles were designed purely for children and came in a wild array of flavours from Chucklin’ Cherry to Mean Green Puncher, and in its later years even sold black bottles so you couldn’t tell what the flavour was until you tried it. So exciting! Relegated to the sin bin of overly sugary nineties produce.
Planters again ruining our lives. A crispy Graham Cracker outside, a creamy peanut butter filled inside. P.B Crisps were the ultimate snack. Nutter Butters are a dark and hollow imitation and we’re counting the days until we meet again
Hostess TMNT Pies
Every photo of these pies is pure nightmare fuel, but God did they taste good. Green pastry and vanilla pudding should never have met and created this broken child but we ate them and we felt like we were part of the gang. They were only available for a year from 1990 to 1991 and now cthey can be found back in the sewers they came from.
If it tasted good in chocolate, it was in the PB Max. They were made of creamy peanut butter and oats on top of a square-shaped whole grain cookie, all covered in milk chocolate. Launched in 190, nobody is really sure how long they lasted but they were discontinued because Mars didn’t like peanut butter. Who doesn’t like peanut butter?
Cinnamon Mini Buns
“The big taste of cinnamon buns... the fun size of cereal.”, these Mini Buns flagrantly lied to our moms about their nutritional value. They were however delicious and lived up to their moniker in terms of frosted cinnamon goodness.
