Eagle eyed fans have spotted a cult-favourite comedy actor in the latest trailer. So far the star’s appearance in the movie has been kept completely under wraps but today Fox dropped the latest trailer for Deadpool 2. The sequel to 2016’s blockbuster superhero megahit has been widely anticipated by… well, pretty much anyone who watched the original and was blown away by the movie’s R-rated humour, fantastic action, fun plot, and general crazy out-of-the-mould style. Now fans of Terry Crews can double their fun because it appears that the Brooklyn Nine Nine star will be a part of the X-force team that Deadpool sets up during the movie.
Fans speculate he will be playing Bedlam who is a member of the superhero team the X-Force in the comics. Traditionally his powers involve the creation of electromagnetic fields to knock out various bits of technology. In other iterations his powers allow him to alter the chemistry of the human brain, invoking pain and illusions
The latest film is set to have comic book characters Domino and Cable make their first ever on-screen appearances. In the comics Cable, who is the son of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Jean Grey, travels back in time, infused with cyborg technology, to prevent a terrible future. He is a stoic war-weary character who chomps cigars and takes everything very seriously, which has traditionally made him a fantastic foil for the zany over-the-top Deadpool. Hopefully the same chemistry that made the legendary Deadpool and Cable comics such a hit will also translate to the screen. It also marks the second time Josh Brolin will get to play a big-named comic book character.
Deadpool previously set records for highest grossing R-rated superhero film. Hopefully the sequel will also break tradition by being a good sequel. God knows there aren’t many of those floating around!
