ITV has released a statement confirming that the popular TV show Saturday Night Takeaway will not air this Saturday. They have not given any further information about its potential return but they have confirmed that the presenter has “asked for time off for the foreseeable future.”
The postponement of the show comes after yesterday when, at 4pm Ant McPartlin was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. This came after he was involved a three vehicle collision. The accident, which also involved his mother, resulted in him being made to take a breathalyser test by the police which he failed. Afterwards he was taken into police custody and questioned. Ant, who was recently photographed returning to his home for the first time after the incident, crashed into the back of a mini containing a couple and their child. The three-year-old girl was taken to hospital for her injuries which were not life threatening and it has since been confirmed she is otherwise healthy and fine.
