Celine Dion is the queen of Las Vegas, performing at her Caesar’s Palace residency on and off for fifteen years now and consistently pulling show-stopping performances in gorgeous gowns. Her first residency began in 2002 and is still the most lucrative in Las Vegas history, playing to three million people and earning the singer $444.69m. Dion had a second residency again in 2011 and is rumoured to be returning again in 2019. This woman knows Vegas, so it made sense for Andy Cohen to ask her all about it when he interviewed her on stage this week.
Recent residencies from Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez have set a precedent for Vegas as the centre of entertainment, somewhere you absolutely need to visit when you’re in America and the trip of a lifetime. So it makes complete sense for Lady Gaga to leap at the opportunity to put on the biggest shows of her life in a two-year run at none other than the MGM Park Theatre. Gaga is set to earn a reported $1m (£745,000) per show, bringing in a total of $75m over two years, and we could even expect her to continue her active pop career at the same time.
Cohen grilled Dion on her thoughts, and asked if she had any advice for Gaga ahead of her run. Celine gave the best response “Do I have advice for lady gaga? No. First of all, this girl knows exactly what she's doing. She knows what to do. And I will never, ever, ever, in my whole life tell somebody professional and super talented like she is to do -- how to do things. I'm going to go see her show. When is she starting?". Adorable. Can we look forward to the glitziest diva duet of all time in Las Vegas? We hope so…
