Comedienne Amy Schumer is said to have married farmer-turned-chef Chris Fischer in a small ceremony in LA on Tuesday, according to sources
The couple were photographed on their first date back in November, and there has been much speculation about the state of their relationship since Schumer split with longtime beau Ben Hanisch back in May. The couple were spotted back in January leaving a taping of Saturday Night Live in New York, where Amy had gone to support actress and friend Jessica Chastain and then more recently at Ellen's star-studded 60th birthday party on the weekend. The couple are said to have been made official at the event, where Amy posted their first ever romantic snap from the event on her Instagram account.
Chris is an award-winning chef whose work with at Mario Batali's upmarket Babbo in Manhattan and the famed River Cafe in London, led his career into taking his the family farm in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. Beetlebung Farm seems idyllic on the farmer's Instagram account, and maybe Amy is planning a more stripped-back life with the earthy chef. People magazine are reporting the couple as having their ceremony in front of about 80 people, including Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lawrence, Larry David and David Spade. Though the couple have only been spotted in public three times, the whirlwind romance has clearly been a success so for for the two who met through Amy's assistant who is also Fischer's sister.
The first trailer for Schumer's new film "I Feel Pretty" landed last weekend, where she plays an insecure woman who hits her head and wakes up with a different view of herself. In the film, the character is convinced she's an attractive supermodel and the confidence she exudes draws men to her just as much as if she actually was. The film has come under some criticism already from people online who suggested it wasn't realistic to show Amy Schumer as a woman who people would generally see as unattractive when she's a successful, white, blonde woman in good shape. We can all wait until release day to give our opinions though, as the film is in cinemas on April 27th
