Working at Disneyland is a dream job for teen girls the world over. Spinning around the parks dressed as Sleeping Beauty makes you feel a special kind of pretty, and having children screaming how much they love you does wonders for your self confidence. The 'Disneyland actors' have to stick to a strict serious of rules and remain in character at all time, though, and that isn't always easy.
Actors are never, under any circumstances, allowed to say "I don't know". You have to know your character inside out and if you don't... just make it up! In an interview with Pop Sugar, an anonymous Disney staff member said "If a guest asks you a question, you always have to have an answer, no exceptions. If you don’t know it, find out, but don’t say you don’t know. If it’s a silly question, make up a silly answer.". Staff interact with hundreds of guests every single day and lots of those guests are small children with very stupid questions so staying on your toes is important. Actors also have to pose for photos and guide visitors around the park, so there's a lot more to the job than you'd think.
Something else they have to keep in mind is when they're pointing visitors on their way with directions. Pointing with one finger is strictly forbidden in all Disney parks, so actors point using their middle and index fingers together to keep from seeing rude. Next time you're at Disneyland make sure to ask them some difficult questions and for some extensive directions - keep things exciting for them
