Meet Atchoum the Persian cat. As you might have noticed, he’s a very fluffy little guy. That’s because he has hypertrichosis… He’s “hairy not scary!”. Hypertrichosis is a symptom of a hormonal disorder that manifests in men and women and causes oodles of invasive hair to grow all over their body. This disease can also appears on animals and Atchoum is the lucky, hairy guy. He lives in Quebec so his owners say he purrs with a French accent and has three kitty sisters who help him groom all of his fluff.
Atchoum is still a kitten, so he’s very playful. He loves water and ice and always runs to the ice machine when his parents are trying to make themselves a drink. He has a favourite app on his iPad and he comes running whenever he hears the intro music to his favourite TV show… he sounds scary smart to us. His health is carefully monitored because he’s the only cat in the world with the condition, but his mom works at a veterinary surgery so he’s very well cared for.
We love Atchoum, the werewolf cat!
